Biography

 I have experience in all aspects of human Drug Discovery: HTS triage; Hit to Lead; Lead Development; safety assessment; pre-clinical Candidate nomination; competitor intelligence; licensing opportunities and Clinical PoC.  Since September 2011: LEO Pharma, Copenhagen, with a focus on finding oral and topical treatments in dermatology.  In the previous 29 years: I worked at Pfizer, UK, from 1982-2011 in most therapeutic areas: cardiovascular, antifungals, A&R, Urology, Sex Health, Women's Health, Obesity, Pain, Tissue Repair and Regenerative Medicine/epigenetics. I've worked in teams that have delivered >15 pre-clinical candidates and contributed towards several marketed drugs (e.g. voriconazole, darifenacin).  As a Chemistry Project Leader I've been responsible for the design and delivery of numerous potential new drugs that entered clinical development. Specialties: Medicinal Chemistry design, HTS triage, Hit to Lead, Lead Development, pre-clinical Candidate nomination, improving safety & reducing drug attrition. Reviewing opportunities with Business Development. Synthetic organic chemistry. Pro-drugs & soft-drugs. Oral and topical drugs. Target selection partnering with exploratory biology.
