Biography

Mr. Thomas Videbaek serves as an Executive Vice President of Novozymes A/S and has been its Chief Operating Officer of Research, Innovation & Supply and Member of its Executive Management Group since September 2007. Mr. Videbaek is responsible for Novozymes's business development outside the enzyme area, including the three existing businesses: Microorganisms, Biopolymers and Biopharmaceutical Ingredients. He served as an Executive Vice President of BioBusiness at Novozymes A/S. from September 2007 to April 1, 2013 and also served as its Executive Vice President of Business Development since April 01, 2013, Executive Vice President since October 1, 2007 and Head of BioBusiness from 2007 to 2013. He served as Vice President of Global Enzyme Sales of Novozymes A/S. He worked for Novo Nordisk and Novozymes for 19 years, initially as a Research Chemist and subsequently in sales, marketing and logistics and was posted with several subsidiaries. From 1990 to 1991, he served as Business Development Manager for Textile in the US and was later appointed Global Marketing Manager for Textile. He joined Novo Nordisk as a Green Chemist in 1988 and served in various positions in the Textiles and Starch divisions, both in Denmark and in the US. In 1995, he became Global Marketing Director for Starch. In 1996, he also assumed responsibility for Food and Feed enzymes at Novo Nordisk and served as its Director for Strategic Marketing, Food and Feed enzymes. At the end of 1998, he moved to Switzerland and was appointed General Manager for Novozymes Switzerland and also served as Vice President for Cereal Food and Beverage Marketing. He returned to Denmark in 2003 and became Vice President for Supply Chain Operations, where he was responsible for establishing a global organization in charge of the supply chain at Novozymes. In 2005, he became Vice President for Sales & Customer Solutions with responsibility for the global Sales and Customer Solutions organization. He serves as Vice Chairman of Albumedix A/S. He has been a Director of Novozymes BioAg Limited since December 2007 and Evolva Holding SA. since May 2012. He holds a Master of Chemical Engineering from DTU, Dept. of Nutrition and Bio-chemistry, Copenhagen 1986 and a PhD from DTU in 1990. He also holds a B Com (International Business) from the Copenhagen Business School in 1992.
