Biography
Carlo Marchetti, PhD, joined Olatec’s Drug Development Team as Program Director and, under the direction of Dr. Charles Dinarello, is investigating the molecular mechanism of Olatec’s Lead Compound and the OLT Analogues through in vitro and in vivo studies. During the past five years, Dr. Marchetti’s research has focused on the role of cytokines in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases with particular interest in cardiovascular syndromes with the aim to find novel inhibitors to treat patients with these inflammatory disorders. Dr. Marchetti received a BS in Biotechnology and a Master degree in Medical, Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology (cum laude) from the University of Rome La Sapienza. He received his PhD in Experimental Medicine from the University Tor Vergata in Rome and conducted his PhD training at the Virginia Commonwealth University.
