Biography
Dr. Wang is Professor and the Head of Dept. of Rehabilitation Medicine in The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Currently, he is the Chair of China's Expert Committee of Internationalized Education for Physical Therapy, and also the Chair of China's Board of Accreditation and Examination for Physical Therapists. He is the Director of Physiotherapy SG in Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine. He obtained his undergraduate degree in sports rehabilitation from Shanghai Sports University and received his master of public health from Sun Yat-sen University. He graduated from the Dept. of Rehabilitation Sciences in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for his PhD degree focused on the mechanisms of pain under the mental stress and physical stress. He has had more than 19 years of clinical experience in the management of musculoskeletal disorder and sports injuries. He has extensive skills on therapeutic exercises and mobilization, manipulation and massage based on clinical thinking and evidence based-practice. He obtained the Teaching Awards 6 times during these years in his university. Leo promotes the entry-level education standards of WCPT on physical therapy in China.
Research Interest
His research interests include sports physiotherapy, QOL, epidemiological study in musculoskeletal disorders and teaching management. Leo has been invited to be the speaker in the different conferences, workshops, symposiums, and other academic events (more than 30 activities each year) in China and oversea each year.
