Julian Longbottom

Biography

 Julian formally joined StudyPortals in January 2014 after a period of consulting to management to develop the business plan for the region. He has several years´ experience in international higher education having recently been the Director, Marketing and International for the University of Canberra and prior to that with IDP Education. Before joining the international education sector in Australia he held various marketing, sales and business development positions with the Fosters Group. Julian studied at Victoria University in Melbourne, gaining a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mathematics and then Monash University for a Graduate Diploma in Finance. Early in his career he put the theory into practice by working as an Industrial Engineer in the mining industry in Western Australia. He shares an Industrial Engineering background with several StudyPortals colleagues and it is a discipline that helps to make data driven decisions. Throughout his career, Julian has regularly travelled internationally to develop brands and commercial partnerships. International business brings the world closer together and enables us all to share best practices.

Research Interest

 His personal ambition is to build awareness of the StudyPortals platforms among the institutions in the region and encourage them to list their programs to receive superior ROI for their marketing and recruitment activities.
