Dr. Robert J. Rosenthal, also known as Bob, Ph.D., has been the Chief Executive Officer of Taconic Biosciences, Inc., since June 2, 2014. Bob served as the Chief Executive Officer at Tonoga Inc. He is also a Director of Taconic Biosciences. Dr. Rosenthal served as the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Impact Online, Inc. He serves as the President at MolecularWare. Bob served as the Chief Executive Officer at IMI Intelligent Medical Implants AG since April 2010 and served as its Managing Director. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Boston Life Sciences. Dr. Rosenthal served as Director of Communications at Impact Online, Inc. He founded Magellan Diagnostics, Inc. (alternate name, Magellan Biosciences Inc.) in 2004 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer from October 2005 to February 2010. Bob served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at ESA Biosciences, Inc. From August 1995 to March 1999, Bob served several positions at ThermoOptek Corp., including Chief Executive Officer and President. He held a senior management positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. He held various executive positions at Thermo Optek Corporation from September 1995 to February 1999. As the President and Chief Executive Officer at Thermo Optek, he built a market- leading instrument company, which went public in 1996. Dr. Rosenthal served as the President at Nicolet Instrument Corporation. He served as a Vice President at Thermo Instrument Systems Inc. Bob has been the Chairman of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. since May 19, 2016 and an Independent Director of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. since July 2007. He has been a Director of ESA Biosciences, Inc., since June 2004.

Dr. Rosenthal served as the Chairman of Intelligent Medical Implants AG. He served as a Director of Hamilton Storage Technologies, Inc. from October 2003 to January 2007; IMI Intelligent Medical Implants AG; and Alseres Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2002. Dr. Rosenthal holds Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from Emory University, M.S. in Chemistry from State University of New York (Buffalo), and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Maryland. He spent a year in Germany and a post-doctoral fellowship and as guest scientist of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. This was followed by Additional post-doctoral fellowship at University of California-Los Angeles. Bob holds AEA Executive MBA from Stanford University.
