Biography
Professor Chang Sik Yu is President of the Asan Medical Center Cancer Institute, which is the largest academic cancer center in Korea. Prof. Yu is a renowned colorectal surgeon and has been actively involved in various research topics including biomarker-based prediction of pre-operational chemoradiotherapy response in rectal cancer, circulating tumor cells in colorectal cancer, and cancer genomics studies of colorectal cancer. Colorectal Cancer Center at Asan Medical Center Cancer Institute, also led by Prof. Yu, performs ~2000 colorectal cancer surgeries annually.
Research Interest
Internationally, Prof. Yu is a member of several international societies, including the European Association of Coloproctology, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeon, American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeon, and International Society for Digestive Surgery and Japan Society of Coloproctology.
