Biography

Dr Elsafty holds the post of Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Dept. - College of Engineering and Technology Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – AASTMT. Additionally, Dr. Elsafty is the Head of the Department since Sept. 2008. He is an Air conditioning and Refrigeration consultant for several companies i.e. Lina-Air, Alexandria Petroleum Company and Engineering Consultant Corporation. He has a vast experience in design, modeling, commissioning and testing Refrigeration and Air conditioning Systems, renewable energy and passive heating/cooling, District cooling and heat recovery systems. Dr. Elsafty obtained his Doctorate in Engineering in 2001 from the Faculty of Engineering- Coventry University– Coventry- UK in the field of Solar Absorption Air conditioning. Dr. Elsafty has more than 65 international Journal and conference papers in the field of Renewable Energy, air Conditioning and refrigeration for different applications.  In addition, Dr. Elsafty is now the consultant for Mechanical work [Air Conditioning, Fire fighting and boilers] in some Mega Projects in Egypt [i.e. Alex West-Alexandria].  Dr. Elsafty is a member and student chapter supervisor of ASHRAE [American Society of Heating, refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers], ASME [American Society of Mechanical Engineers], IMarEst [Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology].   Dr Elsafty holds the post of Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Dept. - College of Engineering and Technology Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – AASTMT.
