Biography
I'm currently an associate professor in the College of Computing and Information technology (CCIT) - Alexandria, Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). In addition, I hold the position of Manager of Computer Networks and Data Center, AASTMT. Moreover, I'm affiliated with the Computer Science Department, Virginia Tech, USA as an adjunct professor as part of the VT-MENA program. I received my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Computer Science, from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt, in June 1993 and August 1998, respectively. I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University (http://www.cs.odu.edu), VA in May 2003. In the past, I held an assistant professor position in the department of Computer Science at Lamar University (http://www.cs.lamar.edu), TX. I regularly serve as a technical program committee in a number of international computing conferences and I'm the conference coordinator and technical program co-chair of ICCTA (http://iccta.aast.edu). My research interests include computer networking, distributed systems, mobile computing, network-layer mobility support, computer and network security, and cloud computing. I'm a member of IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, ACM, and ACM SIGCOMM.
