Biography
Dr. Khaled EL-Sakty is an Assistant Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain at the College of International Transport and Logistics (CITL), Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), and a Visiting Professor in Faculty of Commerce at American University in Cairo, Helwan University and Ain Shams University. He is currently the Head of Transport Logistics Department at CITL, Director of FIATA Diploma in Cairo, Students Ambassador for Final Year Logistics Program, MSc and PhD study at the University of Huddersfield in U.K., and Director of Educational Planning Unit (EPU) at AASTMT. Dr. EL-Sakty’s primary expertise is in Ports and Terminals Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Dr. EL-Sakty has focused his research on performance measurement, procurement, inventory control, and supply chain modelling. His secondary research stream is the Suez Canal logistics corridor, transport planning and multimodalism. His most recent article, ‘Port Selection Criteria and its Impact on Port Competitiveness’, International Journal of Humanities and Social Science. Dr. EL-Sakty has earned numerous scholarships and awards, including ESPO II Award in the year 2011, MARLOG II Award in the year 2013 and MARLOG III Award in the year 2014. He is a former Staff Reviewer of the Technical Committee for MARLOG International Conference that is organized by AASTMT, annually. He is past Vice Dean of CITL from 2012 to 2014. Further to academia, Dr. EL-Sakty holds positions in industry as an international business consultant, certified trainer and a team leader in some mega national projects in different countries.
