Alaa Hosny Shaaban Ahmed El-gendawy

Biography

Eng. Alaa graduated her B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering in 2007 from Assuit University, with grade Excellent with Honor and graduation project grade Excellent. The graduation project was a Children Culture Park, where children enjoy learning through the different ages that Egypt passed through. She studied a diploma in Geographic Information System (GIS) at the Information Technology Institute (ITI) from September 2007 till July 2008. Then she worked as a pre-sales engineer in the ESRI Northeast Africa, a Pioneer GIS company in Egypt from July 2008 till September 2009, and then she joined the British University in September 2009. Eng. Alaa achieved her master’s degree from Cairo University. She accomplished her pre-master’s courses in Environmental design and control with overall grade A-. Her thesis was concerned with developing a framework to integrate GIS (Geographical Information System) capabilities into the EIA process towards sustainable decision-making. Also, she is studying master courses in GIS at Lund University, Sweden as part of distance based master program.
