Biography
Dr. Selim received his Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Calgary (Canada). Currently, he is a Lecturer and Programme Director in the Department of Political Science at the British University in Egypt, and the Coordinator of Academic Activities for the International Association of Middle Eastern Studies (IAMES) headquartered at the University of Calgary (Canada). In addition, he also served as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Port Said University (Egypt) from 2011 to 2015, and a Sessional Instructor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Calgary between 2008 and 2011. Dr. Selim's primary research interests are situated in the fields of international relations and comparative politics, with a focus on international relations theory, arms control and non-proliferation, democratization, and the international relations of the Middle East. Dr. Selim is also a member of a number of academic associations, including the Canadian Political Science Association, and the Middle East Institute.
