Biography

Lara Mikhail is a teaching assistant in the Political Science department in The British University in Egypt. She graduated in 2013 from The British University in Egypt with B.A. in Political Science. Lara graduated with second class division (69%) and with distinction in her dissertation (73%). Lara received three prizes on her graduation day: one for being the top of her class, the second for being one of the top five students of her class and the third for her dissertation. Her dissertation titled “Secularism and Theo phobia: Women’s bodies between the secularization and politicization of religion (Case Studies: Iran and France). Lara was concerned with being engaged in a number of extra-curriculum activities during her study in the university: she was Delegate in ALMUN in Cairo University in 2009/2010. She was also a Delegate in the Model British Parliament at the British University in Egypt in 2010/2011. She was a participant in ISLC at the American University in Cairo in 2011/2012. Lara was elected for four times as the Class Representative in Political science at the Political Science committee. She was Representative of Year 2 after Preparatory in political science in meetings with the British Subject Advisor, who is assigned the assessment of the department’s overall performance at the aim of the preservation of the British validation from Loughbrough University. Moreover, she was representative of the Political Science department in the meeting with EGX 100 (Best 100 Companies). She was also Representative of “Year Three After Preparatory” in front of the subject advisor and vice chancellor from Loughbrough university in 2013 Lara Had a visit to the Social Democratic Party, headed by Dr. Mohammed Abou Al Ghar; where She attended a session in the committee of women 2012, which is headed by Mrs. Mona Abou El Ghar. She was also a trainee in Cairo University in the Center of Asian Studies in 2010. Lara was a moderator in Movie and Debate Club in The British University in Egypt in 2013. She was also a moderator Labor in The Model British Parliament in The British University in Egypt in 2013. Finally, she was an active Member in the Political Science Club in the British University in Egypt in 2013.
