Biography
Dr. Mohamed Elwageeh graduated his B.Sc. in Mining Engineering in 1966 from Cairo University, followed by M.Sc. from the same university. He graduated his Ph.D. in Mining Engineering in 1975 from the University of Petrosani. Dr. Elwageeh was appointed teaching assistant in the Faculty of Engineering Cairo University in 1966 and Staff member in the same faculty since 1975. Dr.Elwageeh earned his professorship in 1987 and he has been appointed Head of Mining, Petroleum and Metallurgical Engineering, Cairo University in 2003. Dr. Elwageeh has more than 47 years of academic teaching and research expertise in Mining, Petroleum and Geological Engineering topics and courses for undergraduate and postgraduates. He supervised more than 20 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and published more than 38 papers in national and international reviewed journals and conferences. Dr. Elwageeh is the founder and director of the Mining Studies and Research Centre, Cairo University from 2000 to 2003. He has been appointed director of the Rock Engineering Laboratory for 5 years. He possesses a practical experience in consultations with the national mining industry. He is member of the Mineral Resources Scientists Council, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and member of Energy and Mineral Resources Council, the Academy of Scientific Researches and Technology. Dr. Elwageeh joined the British University in Egypt in 2009 and has been appointed Head of Petroleum Engineering and Gas Technology Department for one academic year 2012/2013.
