Biography
Professor Mostafa Radwan was born on 29Th of July 1953 in Cairo, Egypt. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1976 from the Military Technical College (MTC), Cairo, Egypt, with grade Excellent with honors. He was awarded his M.Sc. in 1985 from the same school in the field of polymer applications in pyrotechnic compositions after submitting a thesis titled "Preparation of New Illuminant Composition Based on Polyurethaneâ€. In 1991, he was awarded his doctoral degree from Department of Chemistry and Applied Chemistry, University of Salford, UK. The thesis was in the field of polymer solutions. As a Ph.D student Professor Mostafa Radwan earned the "Overseas Research Student Award". Since 1981 Professor Mostafa Radwan worked in several funded projects in different polymer applications in the military field to produce lower vulnerability and high performance energetic materials. Before joining the British University in Egypt (BUE) in September 2005 Professor Mostafa Radwan was the head of one of the Chemical Engineering Branch departments in the MTC, the head of the education council of this department and a member of the research committee of the Chemical Engineering Branch. Professor Dr. Radwan worked in the Chemical Engineering Branch in the MTC as a teaching assistant, lecturer, senior lecturer and finally as a full professor. He taught several courses for postgraduate and undergraduate students, developing laboratories and courses, supervising M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. Since 2005 Prof. Mostafa Radwan worked as the professor of chemical engineering in the Basic Science Department in the BUE and in March 2011 he became the acting head of the chemical engineering department till September 2012. Dr. Radwan obtained the professorship degree in Chemical Engineering from the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities in 2006. Professor Mostafa Radwan published more than 40 scientific papers in different conferences and international polymer journals and he has supervised 20 Ph.D and M.Sc. students
