Biography
Dr. Samar Sheweka received her B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering in 2004 from Cairo University, with Very Good degree. Then she received her M.Sc. in Urban Design in 2006 from the same University. She started her Ph.D. in 2007 and received the degree two years later, to become the youngest architect who received the Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering from Cairo University that year. She has joined the British University in Egypt in September 2008.since then She has worked on different research projects and taught several courses in the Architectural Department . Dr. Samar has several published international journals and conferences papers. She also worked as an architect in several successful projects such as; Madinaty, Al-Rehab, King Saud University (Riyadh, Jeddah) and Porto Marina, affiliated with famous consultant offices like; Space Consultant and Dar al Handasa.
Research Interest
Sustainability Studies, Urban Design and Development, Energy Efficient Buildings, Digital Architecture, Adaptive Re-use for Historical Buildings with new Technologies and Concepts.
