Dr. Hala El-sayed Ismail El-helaly

Biography

I was awarded my Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science Cairo University class of 1987. I was awarded my Masters degree in Political Science from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science Cairo University class of 2003. The title of my masters thesis was " The Role of the UN in Protecting the Rights of Women: A Case Study of the Committee of Resistance of Discrimination against Women". I was awarded my PhD in Political Science from the faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University class of 2007. The title of my PhD thesis was "The Role of International Non-Governmental Organizations in the Protection of Human Rights: A Study for the Amnesty International and for the International Committee of the Red Cross. As for my professional experience, I started my career as a political researcher at the National Human Rights Council (2003-2005). I taught at the graduate level in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University. Today, I am a lecturer at October 6 University, Faculty of Economics and Management, Political Science Department. I started my career in October 6 University as of 2006. Since then, I have taught the following courses in English and in Arabic; Foreign Policy, Comparative Political Systems, Political Thought, International Law, Diplomatic and Consular Systems, International Relations, Development of International Relations, and An Introduction to Political Science. I am also the Manager of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit on behalf of the Faculty of Economics and Management. I am acting as a Chairperson of the Political Science Department at the Faculty of Economics and Management. I am a Board member of the Quality Unit, at the E-Learning Center, October 6 University. I have knowledge and experience related to; Human Rights, Womens Rights, The Use of Technology in Teaching, Strategic Planning, Communication Skills in the Different Patterns of Education, Examination Systems and Student Assessment, Institutional Correction for Higher Education. In addition, I am fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English, I have very good computer skills and I have a strong background in research methodology.
