Biography
Hazem assumed an academic career at the department of hotel management, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Suez Canal University in 1995. He was promoted to the post of full Professor of human resource management at the same University. In 2010, he joined the Business Administration Department at the British University in Egypt, and then assumed the role of the Acting Head of Department in 2011 to the beginning of 2013. Hazem is an expert in the preparation and execution of educational and training programs. His industrial and unique academic experience has helped him to devise and conduct numerous undergraduate, postgraduate and professional educational and training programmes; both inside and outside Egypt. He also executed auditing programs to few hotels in Cairo. Hazem has worked in a teaching and consulting capacity in many different universities, institutions and academic bodies in Egypt and abroad. He also has a wide number of research responsibilities in Suez Canal University. He supervises a number of MSc and PhD students involved in projects on human resource management issues. Hazem has published several research studies in the area of performance management, employee resourcing, employee development, employee minimum wage, psychometric analysis, and emotional intelligence. In addition, he is currently a research associate at the centre of hospitality and employment research (CHER), England and a member of the Egyptian Society of Scientific Experts on Tourism "ESSET", Egypt. Moreover, Hazem is a certified behaviour and attitude assessor from TTI Insight, USA. Hazem also has been working as an organizational development and human resource management consultant in distinguished consultancy companies for the past 12 years. He utilises his concepts and academic methodologies to successfully accomplish many assignments both in the public and private sectors.
