Biography
Dr. Sasha H. Shafikhani has received his Ph.D. in microbiology from University of California, Berkeley during the period of 1996-01. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor in Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Oncology, & Cell Therapy, Rush University Medical Center, USA. He is also continuing his Administrative responsibilities as Search Committee for Rush University Cancer Center Director and Committee on Senior Faculty Appointments and Promotions (COSFAP). He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Dataset Papers in Microbiology, Austin Journal of Clinical Immunology, Journal of Clinical Immunology and Immunotherapy (CIIT) and many more. He has authored 26 research articles. He is a member of American Society for Microbiology, American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and many more. He has honoured as Young Investigator Award, Rush University Medical Center.
Research Interest
-To determine the virulence mechanisms in the bacterial pathogen, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa. - To determine the eukaryotic host responses that are intended to control bacterial pathogen infections. -To employ bacterial toxins as molecular tools to dissect important mammalian cellular processes such as cytokinesis, apoptotic program cell death, and apoptotic compensatory proliferation signalling.
