Biography
Prarthana Thiagarajan work as a training Physician.Her professional interests include luminal gastroenterology and hepatology, largely because of the variety that both specialties offer in terms of diagnostics and scope for intervention.Within gastroenterology, I have researched the role of aspirin and NSAIDs in chemoprevention of GI malignancies (Thiagarajan & Jankowski, 2012) and hope to engage further in research towards primary prevention in gastrointestinal oncology. Within Hepatology, my interests lie in utility of non-invasive biomarkers in detection of early and advanced fibrosis. I am also interested in pathophysiology of NAFLD and drug-induced liver injury , and hope to embark on translational research with a view to improving diagnostic methods for these clinical entities.
