Biography
Professor Mengesha became President of the University of Gondar in November 2008. Since taking over the presidency he has been a dynamic and visionary leader propelling the University towards increased growth and development. Under his leadership the University has been able to increase its range of teaching, research and community services; develop a range of innovative social enterprise ventures; rapidly expand it facilities and infrastructure through high levels of investment and strengthen its international links. This positive growth has been reflected in the dramatic improvement of the University’s national standing - under Professor Mengesha’s leadership the University of Gondar has gone from being ranked 29th to 3rd in the country.
