Biography

Mr Gizachew Assefa joined the University of Gondar in March 2009. Gizachew served as the Head of the Department of Reproductive Health and Health Education between November 2009 and October 2010. He currently continues to serve in a teaching capacity within the Institute as a lecturer of Reproductive Health. Mr. Gizachew earned his BSc degree from the College of Medicine and Health Science (CMHS) at the Hawassa University as of March 2009. He continued his studies in CMHS, University of Gondar in 2010 and completed his Masters of Public Health (MPH) in Reproductive Health in 2012. Mr Gizachew continues to play an active lecturing role within the Institute. He currently teaches the following courses for both under and postgraduate students: Reproductive Health, Health Education, Maternal and Child Health, Family Planning and Population Studies, Adolescent and Sexual Health. He supervises Health Science and Medical students in their community (TTP) attachments. He also determines in advising both undergraduate and postgraduate students for the successful completion of their research projects and thesis works. He has participated as an editorial member for E-Newsletter at College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Gondar.

Research Interest

Team based research projects pertaining Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
