Biography
Ato Molalign was appointed Head of the Department of Sociology in 2012. He initially joined the University of Gondar as a Graduate Assistant in 2008 and continued to work within the Department as an Assistant Lecturer until 2010. He left to complete his graduate studies at the Addis Ababa University and rejoined the Department in 2012. He completed his academic studies at Addis Ababa University gaining a BA in Sociology and Social Anthropology and an MA in Sociology with a specialization in the sociology of health and well-being. He continues to carry out academic duties within the Department teaching a range of courses and advising and supervising students.
Research Interest
Street children and vagrants, Juvenile delinquency and crime Child sex tourism, Child abuses, Domestic violence Conflict dispute mechanisms including the Ethiopian traditional conflict resolution techniques, Family and related issues Infant and maternal mortality, Health risk behaviors and the patterns of health and illness Mental health and illness
