Biography
John Ale is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Southwestern Energy. In 2013 he joined the company in this role. Before joining Southwestern Energy, John was Vice President and General Counsel of Occidental Petroleum Corporation. John’s career also includes partner roles with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Vinson & Elkins LLP. In addition, John served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Warren E. Burger of the U.S. Supreme Court and to Judge Edward Tamm of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. John earned both his bachelor’s degree in Economics and his juris doctorate degree from the University of Virginia.
