Biography

Dr Tesfahunegn is specialized in Land and Water Resources Management. In this area, he has published several articles in peer reviewed journals. He has also presented many papers related to Land and Water Resources Management at different conferences and trainings. Prior to joining UNU-INRA, Dr Tesfahunegn was working as an Associate professor at the department of Soil Resources and Watershed Management of the Aksum University, Ethiopia, where he was teaching different courses. He has also supervised undergraduate and graduate students and was an external examiner that evaluated the thesis of many masters’ students in Ethiopia. He held different managerial positions and did undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum evaluations, whiles in this position. Dr. Tesfahunegn was also a visiting scientist at Nebraska University, Lincoln, United States of America in 2005, and CAB International in 2015 in Nairobi, Kenya. He has been a research collaborator and coordinator of the International Sorghum/Millet Research Program (INTSORMIL) – a USAID supported Project. He has also worked on a consultancy project for CAB International on Crop Nutrient Response Functions Extrapolation in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is an invited reviewer of many international Journals including Land Degradation and Development, Soil and Tillage Research, Catena, Pedosphere, Momona Ethiopian Journal of Science, Sustainability, British Journal of Applied Science and Technology, Acta Agriculture Scandinavica, American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (Applied Engineering in Agriculture), Environment, Development and Sustainability Journal, and Soil Science Society of America Journal.
