Biography

Eleanor’s research interests focus on major climatic and oceanographic changes on timescales spanning several tens of thousands to several hundreds of millions of years. She is particularly interested in how isotope and trace element proxies in ancient marine biogenic calcite (foraminifera, brachiopods, corals) can help us reconstruct and disentangle the causes and effects of such climate change. In recent years, her research has also involved a focus on how fossil assemblages of planktonic foraminifera can contribute to our understanding of major oceanographic changes in the past.
