Biography
He received my BSc (Agriculture) degree in 1967 and MSc (Agriculture) in 1971 from the G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, India, M.Phil (Agricultural economics) in 1974 from Himachal Pradesh University, India and PhD degree in Agricultural & resource economics in 1981 from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have over 30 years of experience teaching various Agricultural economics and Quantitative data analysis courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of the South Pacific (13 yrs) and at the Himachal Pradesh University, India (20 yrs). He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of the Nigeria, Nigeria (for 1.5 yrs), Heidelberg University, Germany (2 years) and the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada (one semester). He have supervised 12 PhD dissertations, 21 Master theses and numerous undergraduate research projects.He have extensive consulting experience and taught in workshops dealing with crop and livestock production economics and marketing.
Research Interest
His research interests are on problems of agricultural production and agribusiness management with special reference to analysis of efficiency of resource allocation, marketing supply chains, farm credit needs, and sustainable agricultural development.
