Biography
Dr Philip Jefferies is a chartered psychologist, lecturer and researcher. He currently teaches health, social, and cognitive psychology at USP, and has ongoing interests in teaching quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Phil was awarded a BSc in Psychology (Exon) and an MSc in Social and Organisational Psychology from the University of Exeter, UK. He gained his PhD from Dublin City University, Ireland, for his research into rehabilitation and assistive technology use, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship there. Phil has a background in health psychology and how persons use assistive technologies to support activities of daily living and social participation. He has worked with individuals with acquired and congenital disabilities, patients and clients of health services, and international health services themselves. His research interests include: enabling technologies, health promotion, rehabilitation, stress and coping, and methodological advances.
