LIISA UUSITALO, doctor in economics, PhD (Econ.), is professor of marketing (special fields marketing communication and consumer theory) at theHelsinki School of Economics 1990-2009.. Master degree 1968, Licentiate degree 1975, and Doctor degree 1979 at the Helsinki School of Economics. Doctoral dissertation on the social differentiation of consumption: Consumption style and way of life. Assistant and lecturer 1969-79.Docent (affiliate professor) 1981, Associate professor 1991, Acting professor from 1987 until nomination to Full professor in 1993, Helsinki School of Economics. Post-graduate research at the University of California, Berkeley, USA 1972-73 and Academy of Finland, Council of Social Sciences 1976-79. --Post-doctoral research fellow at the Science Center Berlin: Institute for Environment and Society, Germany 1979-1980, Senior research fellow at the Academy of Finland1981-87, Research fellow at Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin - Institute for Advanced Study, Germany 1995-96, and Research fellow at Scancor-institute,University of Stanford 2002, the Aarhus School of Business, Denmark 2003, and University of Bath 2007. Honours: Invited member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters since 1997; Fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg Berlin since 1995; Professor of the Year 2000 in Finland.
