Biography
Sir Hugh was appointed as Chairman of Guy’s and St Thomas’ in February 2011. He had a long and distinguished career in the civil service which included senior roles in the Department of Health and NHS Executive, the Cabinet Office and the Home Office. His most recent appointment before joining the Trust was as Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health, from which he retired in July 2010. Sir Hugh chairs the Cancer Services, Corporate Management and Remuneration Committees as well as the Board. He is a resident of Southwark.
