Biography
Andreas Lindén is theoretically oriented ecologist with diverse interest in population and behavioral ecology. In particular, He committed to linking empirical data to statistical models tailored to ecological issues. He strive to study practical ecological issues in parallel, develop the associated theory and methodology, when all these are connected. His research center has been birds, which he have studied using various types of long-term tracking data and bird station data, but he also interested in other taxis. He studied biology at the University of Helsinki, with ecology and evolutionary biology as the main subject. He did my doctoral thesis on statistical modeling of environmental variables effects in population dynamics, handled by Esa Ranta and Veijo Kaitala. After that He worked for three years as a postdoctoral researcher in Norway at Oslo University, where I studied the timing of bird migration and its impact on bird tribes, handled by Nils Chr. Stenseth.
Research Interest
Environmental impact on populations, Analysis of time series, Spatial Population Dynamics, Variation in demographic parameters, Movement of birds and movement patterns, Phenology, Acoustic communication and analysis
