Biography
Ari Hanski has 25 years' diversified experience in different sectors of water research studies: environmental impact assessments (EIA) of different kind of projects, studies concerning the state of water bodies, assessment of harmful effects caused by e.g. sewage waters or dredging (on water quality, water animals, fish populations, fishing), preparing plans for restoration of water bodies and application documents for water permits. He has participated in the EIA- process of the Nord Stream Project to construct a gas pipeline system through the Baltic Sea. During the years 2010-2012 of construction of the pipelines he was responsible for reporting the environmental monitoring results to the authorities.
