Biography
Jaana Bamford is a professor in molecular biology in the Department of Biological and Environmental Science at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Helsinki, Finland and currently, she is also the adjunct professor at the University of Helsinki. She has published about 65 reviewed papers and was an author of 17 book chapters. She has a teaching experience in genetics, microbiology, virology and microbial evolution more than 30 years. She is a member of American Society for Microbiology and serves as a vice head of the Research Council in Biological and Environmental Science in the Academy of Finland. She has served as a reviewer of peer-reviewed journals in the area of biochemistry, microbiology and virology. She organized three conferences.
