Biography
Juri Poutanen is Professor of Astronomy and Director of Tuorla Observatory,University of Turku.His research group studies accretion-powered high energy sources such as neutron stars and black holes.
Research Interest
High energy astrophysics (black holes, neutron stars, active galactic nuclei, relativistic jets, gamma-ray bursts, ultra-luminous X-ray sources, X-ray pulsars, X-ray polarimetry), plasma physics, radiative transfer, ultra-high energy cosmic rays, cosmic masers.
