Biography
Pierre earned a Master’s degree in Liquid Physics (Paris-Sud University, Pierre et Marie CURIE University, École Normale Supérieure). His PhD studies led him to work at the interface between statistical physics and cell mechanics in the Laboratory of Matter and Complex Systems at the Denis Diderot University (Paris). Pierre then studied magnetotactic bacteria in controlled microfluidic environments during a postdoctoral fellowship at the Laboratory of Physics and Mechanics of Heterogeneous Media ESPCI. This research strengthened his capacity to deal with biological phenomena using a physicist approach by implementing complex devices. Pierre’s interdisciplinary training taught him how to make the best of different scientific fields.
