Biography

Amit Kumar Pandey is a researcher in Robotics and AI at CNRS-LAAS (French National Center for Scientific Research - Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems), Toulouse, France and Aldebaran Robotics, Paris, France. At LAAS-CNRS, he also worked as a doctoral researcher and obtained his Ph.D. degree in Robotics from INSA, University of Toulouse in 2012. He is the second prize awardee (tie) of the prestigious Georges Giralt Award for the Best Ph.D. Thesis in Robotics in Europe, awarded by EURON. With full fellowship, he obtained his MS by Research degree, specialization in Robotics, in 2007 from IIIT-Hyderabad, India. He received his B.Tech. degree in 2005 from JIIT, India. His current research interest involves Socially Intelligent Robots and Human Robot Interaction, investigating perspective-taking, affordance, planning, decision-making, learning and proactive aspects of robot\s behavior for betterment of society. Presently he is serving as the lead researcher of the global cognitive architecture of Romeo2 project.
