Biography
Wolfgang Dürheimer is a graduate engineer in vehicle engineering and a graduate engineer with degrees at the Fachhochschule München . In 1984 he started his career at BMW . In 1999 the engineer switched to Porsche AG . Where he was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer for Research and Development in 2001. Under his management, the models Cayenne , Panamera , Carrera GT, the RS Spyder and 911 GT3 R Hybrid, the 997 generation of the Porsche 911 as well as the concept of the 918 Spyder . After the takeover of Porsche by Volkswagen , Dürheimer became CEO of Bentley in 2011 and President of Bugatti . In addition, he has been responsible for Group Motorsport as the General Authorized Representative of the Volkswagen Group. From 1 September 2012 to 30 June 2013, Dürheimer was active as a development manager at Audi . For the concept study 918 Spyder , Dürheimer was awarded a Man of the Year 2010 by Top Gear magazine. He received the " Personality of the Year" award in 2016 from the German automobile magazine Autosbild Sportscars .
