Biography
Professor Alain Marty holds a degree in Engineering and is a Doctor in Biochemical Engineering from INSA (National Institute of Applied Sciences) of Toulouse. He began his career in 1992 as a senior lecturer at INSA Toulouse. In 2004, he obtained the Habilitation to Direct Research. He became a professor in 2007 and conducted his research at the Laboratory of Engineering of Biological Systems and Processes (LISPB), an internationally renowned laboratory affiliated to INSA, CNRS and INRA. His research interests include biotechnology, biocatalysis, enzymology, molecular engineering of enzymes, development of enzymatic reactors, and metabolic engineering. During his career, he has always combined cutting-edge research with the desire to implement it in the industrial world through collaborations, for example, with Syngenta, Avril, La toulousaine de Cereals, Sanofi, Pierre Fabre, Bioland, Mayoly Spindler, Lesaffre, Airbus . Involved from the beginning of the assembly of the Thanaplast project, he had for 3 years the scientific responsibility of INRA's actions in the project and was a member of the Scientific Council of Carbios. Since April 2015, Alain Marty is the Scientific Director of CARBIOS.
