David L. Hutto

Biography

 Dr. David L. Hutto is responsible for providing high-level scientific leadership and ensuring the quality of science for Charles River’s safety assessment services. He is also the executive scientific liaison with certain global accounts. Dr. Hutto is considered an authority on early-stage drug development and has extensive experience in the development of biologic and small-molecule therapeutics, regulatory document preparation and submission and interacting with global regulatory agencies. Dr. Hutto joined Charles River in 2015 from Eisai Inc. where he was the Global Head of Drug Safety. Prior to joining Eisai, he held senior scientific positions at Biogen and Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Dr. Hutto received B.S. and D.V.M. degrees from Oklahoma State University, and a Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Pathology from Iowa State University. He has authored more than 40 scientific publications and abstracts and has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Medical School.
