Biography
He is a neurologist and working on the project the Cognitive Dysfunction in Children with Epilepsy and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). For both objectives, TIGER undertakes coordinated animal experiments, genetic and clinical studies aiming at testing (i) specific mechanistic hypothesis and (ii) the therapeutic potential of various interventions deriving from these hypothesis. Methodologies TIGER combined Numerous approaches Including molecular and cellular biology, neurophysiological and neuropsychological assessments, neuroimaging (MRI, fMRI, PET), human genetics (molecular genetics and cytogenetics), and double-blind randomized clinical trials. Research projects Axis 1: Cognitive Dysfunction · Inflammation and polyunsaturated fatty acids in epilepsy Brain maturation in children with epilepsy (DYNAMAT and LOCALISERS) · Genetic Mutations in Cognitive Disorders: Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetic Studies · Clinical trials: Cognitive rehabilitation and dietary FA Axis 2: Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) · Animal models of SUDEP with central apnea and epilepsy · Human pathophysiology (REPO2MSE)
