Research projects: Using multidisciplinary approaches combining functional anatomy, biochemistry and molecular biology, we try to understand the mechanisms responsible for the hypokinesis characteristic of parkinsonian syndromes, its response to L-Dopa and its complications such as Dopa- (DDI), as well as the mechanisms leading to neuronal death in these pathologies. Our work calls for the analysis of the behavior of rodents, nonhuman primates and human brain (human cerebrothèque) in order to establish correlations. Using mainly gene transfer or human brain purification, we then modulate the severity of the symptoms or the degree of neuronal death in order to establish a causal link.
