Biography
She began her scientific activity during my Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA Biologie Santé, Montpellier). During the two workshops during this period, she had the opportunity to learn both molecular immunology in Professor MP Lefranc's (Montpellier) Molecular Immunology laboratory and neurobiology in the laboratory Dr. J Bockaert (CNRS UPR 9023, Montpellier). she then carried out her thesis under the direction of Dr. Laurent Fagni (CNRS UPR 9023, Montpellier). During her doctorate, she studied the regulation of the activity of the Ca2 + channels by the metabotropic receptors of glutamate in the granular cells of the mouse cerebellum in culture. To carry out part of her thesis project, she joined the laboratory of Professor J. Lansman, University of California San Francisco, USA, for a year. After her thesis, she decided to take an interest in the glutamatergic synaptic transmission and more particularly to the presynaptic mechanisms involved in the modulation of glutamate release. Under the direction of Dr. O. Manzoni, she took part in a European project (Biomed program) in association with Dr. A. Malgaroli (Milan) laboratory, which was designed to promote a direct visualization technique by immunofluorescence of presynaptic activity. This work allowed us to visualize the 'awakening' of silent synapses. Following this, she decided to take an interest in another form of plasticity: synaptic maturation. To do this, she joined the Gary Westbrook lab, Vollum Institute Portland, USA. During this period,
