Biography
Jean LAURENT is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique (1967) and has a Master of Sciences degree from Wichita State University. He spent his entire career at the Crédit Agricole group, first with Crédit Agricole de Toulouse, and later with Crédit Agricole du Loiret and then Crédit Agricole de l’Île de France, where he exercised or supervised various retail banking business activities. He then joined Caisse Nationale du Crédit Agricole, first as Deputy General Manager (1993-1999) and later as Chief Executive Officer (1999-2005). In that capacity, he was responsible for the public offering of Crédit Agricole SA (2001) and the acquisition and integration of Crédit Lyonnais in Crédit Agricole group. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Foncière des Régions. The Board of Directors of Danone appointed Jean L AURENT as Chairman of the Nomination and Compensation Committee on April 28, 2011 and Lead Independent Director on February 18, 2013.
