Biography
Bertrand Meyer has been a professor of tectonics and remote sensing at UPMC since 2002. He has coordinated the curriculum for first-year bachelor’s studies in Earth Sciences and was responsible for the Professional Master in Remote Sensing from 2004 to 2011. His research focuses on the mechanisms of deformation of the continental lithosphere and the geology of earthquakes. It combines the analysis of satellite imagery, field observations both on land and sea, and dating information to decipher the seismic behavior of active faults.He was deputy director of the Earth Sciences Institute of Paris from 2009 to 2013. As a member of the research Directorate from 2007 to 2011, he was a coordinator for the Living Earth and Environment division, and became director of the Research Directorate in 2011 until 2014. From 2014 to 2016, Bertrand Meyer was the deputy Vice President at UPMC, in charge of Research Structures.
Research Interest
Mr. Meyer's research mainly focus on analyss of satellites, tectonic mechanisms,remote sensing, earth lithosphers analysis, deformation and geology.
