Biography
Didier Georgakakis is Professor of Political Science in the Department of Political Science at Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne University and Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. Member of the European Center of Sociology and Political Science (CESSP - Paris 1 / EHESS / CNRS), he is currently responsible for the joint master's degree "public action in Europe" (Ecole Nationale d'Administration / Paris 1). He published The Republic Against Propaganda. The original failure of state communication in France (1918-1940) and directed six collective works including, recently, The political uses of governance with Marine de Lassalle and The field of the Eurocracy, A sociology of the staff of the EU , and its English version, written and completed with Jay Rowell, The Field of Eurocracy. Mapping the EU Staff and professionals . He also coordinated several issues of scientific journals including, in 2010, the issues that the French Revue d'Administration Publique and French Politicshave devoted to the European Union, and published about fifty contributions in leading peer-reviewed journals as well as in numerous collective works in France and abroad. He also communicates regularly in international congresses of his discipline (CES, EUSA, UACES, ECPR, APSA) and is frequently invited to present this work in many university research centers in France and abroad, as recently in Oxford, King's College, Princeton, IUE Florence, Berlin, Potsdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Leuven, etc.
