Biography
Johan HEILBRON is a research director at CNRS and a member of CESSP. Specialist in the historical sociology of social sciences, art and culture, and transnational corporations and financialization, he recently published The Rise of the Social Sciences and the Formation of Modernity (co-director 2001), Pour a history of the social sciences. Tribute to Pierre Bourdieu (co-direction 2004), Birth of Sociology (2006), and French Sociology (2015). Having directed the number "National Traditions in Social Sciences" of the Journal of the History of the Humanities and Social Sciences (No. 18, 2008), he was co-editor of the Proceedings of Social Science Research Proceedings.on translation (144, 2002), the international circulation of ideas (145, 2002), finance (146-147, 2003), the economics of research (164, 2006), martial practices and combat sports (No. 179, 2009), and disciplines and interdisciplinarity (No. 210, 2015 in press). Johan Heilbron teaches at EHESS and Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He co-directs the Liber (Seuil) collection, and is a member of the Scientific Committee of Economic Sociology , European Journal of Social Theory , Journal of History of Human Sciences , Transéo . He has also co-edited Norbert Elias's Complete Works in German (Suhrkamp, ​​19 vols) and in English (University College Dublin Press, 18 volumes).
