Biography
Associate professor, PhD in geography from Paris-Sorbonne University (1998), qualified to direct research (2009), he is a lecturer at the University Paris 4-Sorbonne from 2000 to 2010. He is a member of the National Council Universities (Section 23) from 2003 to 2007. Between 2006 and 2009, he was director of geography studies at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) where he participated in the creation and development of this new university. It is attached to the laboratory currently at the Center for Research and Analysis in Geopolitics (CNRS-Paris VIII). He is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Geographical Society of Paris (since 2005), responsible for the commission of historical geography to the French National Committee of Geography (since 2010). In 2012, he founded the Journal of Historical Geography (online and free). In 2010-2011, he is an auditor at the Institute of Advanced National Defense Studies-Armament and Defense Economy (47th National Session).
Research Interest
Since 2013, he has headed the monthly research seminar on Military Geography and Geopolitics at the Department of Geography of the École Normale Supérieure (access without reservation and free), which brings together the actors and experts on the issues dealt with: "Technological Revolutions and Military Geography" (2013-2014). "Geospatial Intelligence and Digital Geographic Information" (2014-2015).
