Biography
Bertrand Réau is Senior Lecturer-HDR in Sociology at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and researcher at the European Center of Sociology and Political Science (Paris 1-CNRS-EHESS). His recent work focuses on tourism practices and the social uses of time, the challenges of the globalization of science and disciplinary reorganizations around Studies, the relationship between tourism and ethnicity in Southeast Asia, the development of theme parks. in the world. He is the co-author of Sociologie du tourisme (2011) and Sociologie de Charles Wright Mills (2014), and the author of Les Français et les vacances. Sociology of supply and leisure practices (2011).
Research Interest
His current research interests focus on economics, cultural practices, job and employment. His recent published papers and works are on the following topics: tourism and social consumption of space and place, the globalization and rearrangement of various social sciences disciplines around the category of "Studies", the relations between tourism and ethnicity in Southeast Asia, the extension of theme parks in the world. He is the author of The French and the holidays. Sociology of supply and leisure practices (2011). As a co-author, he published, together with Saskia Cousin, Sociology of Tourism , (2011) and The Sociology of Charles Wright Mills (2014), together with François Denord.
