1986-1990 : student of the École normale supérieure (ENS) in Paris 1987 : "Licence" of physics 1988 : "Maîtrise" of physics, and "DEA" of quantum physics (ENS and University Pierre and Marie Curie) 1989 : "Magistère" of physics 1990 : "Agrégation" of physics (national rank: 3). 1988-1992 : PhD in quantum physics in Laboratoire Kastler Brossel of ENS, with Jean Dalibard: "The limits of laser cooling in one-dimensional optical molasses".
