Biography
Xavier Ursat, a graduate of the École Polytechnique and Télécom Paris, has been Director of EDF’s Hydraulic Production and Engineering Division since 1 June 2014. He joined EDF in 1991, first holding various positions in the hydraulic engineering department. Until 2002, he was the construction manager of EDF’s hydraulic engineering centres and contributed to international projects, especially in South America. He was a special advisor to EDF’s Deputy General Manager in charge of Production and Engineering from 2002 to 2005, Assistant Director of the Alps Production Unit in Grenoble until 2007, Director of the Southwest Production Unit in Toulouse from 2007 to 2010 and Assistant Director of the Hydraulic Production and Engineering Division from 2010 to 2014. Mr. Ursat is on the Board of Directors of ONEMA (Office National de l'Eau et des Milieux Aquatiques, National Office of Water and Aquatic Environments), EDF New Energies and EDF Norte Fluminense. He is also a member of the National Water Committee and the World Water Council’s Board of Governors.
